Drum Castle

Hello everybody! I am sorry I haven't been blogging for a while. I have been pretty busy! I went on a Girl Scout camp out last Saturday and got to roast marshmallows. We also made pillows. It was so much fun. I made some new friends, too!

So far I have gotten to go to 3 castles here in Scotland, Balmoral castle, Crathes castle, and Drum castle. We went to Drum castle on Sunday. It was very fun. I got to take a castle quiz while we looked around inside the castle. I also got to climb up some really old windy stairs into the old tower. It was really fun. My mommy thought it was scary because she doesn't like heights.

Tomorrow I get to go on a field trip with my class to a hiking forest called Tyrebagger. I think it will be a lot of fun. Hope you have a good week. Aubrey

A note from Mommy

Hello there friends! Just wanted to let you know that we have not forgotten you. We have been experiencing telecommunication woes at home and have very limited internet access. We are hoping to have this resolved within the next couple of days. Apparently when you have a telecommunications monopoly you can offer really poor customer service. Stay tuned!

My Holiday

I'm sorry everybody that I haven't posted in a while. I was on my vacation in London and York. In London I got to ride the London Eye. I also got to go to the Movie Museum. I also got to have High Tea one day. There I drank English Breakfast Tea. It was the first time I tried it and I have been drinking it ever since. I love it! Also when I was at High Tea, I had some scones. Biscuits are called scones. I also had some finger sandwiches. They were good, but I didn't really eat them. The salmon was kind of tasty. I got to have this little chocolate cake and it was very very tasty. High Tea was very good. We got to sit by a big bookshelf with an old typewriter in it. It reminded me of Kit Kittredge.

After that, I went to the Tower of London and saw The Crown Jewels. It was very cool. We got to go to the dungeon of the Tower where you walk down steep stairs into shallow water. There is coins in the water. We also got to go into this place where they kept two young princes. No one knows what happened to them but it is said that two small skeletons were found in the bloody tower a few years afterwards.

We went on a train to York. Not New York, but York in Yorkshire England. We got to see the famous train museum. Then we went into a time machine and it shook to go back into time. There we saw people wearing old time clothes. Then we went too far back in time and were in the year 866 A.D and then we went to 900 something A.D. where we got to see what the Vikings did. It was cool. We also got to ride on a Merri-Go-Round and after that I got to ride a big giant slide where I sat on a floor mat to slide down. Bubby got to ride a train in circles. He was the driver.

When we got home to Aberdeen I got to open my moving boxes of toys. I also got some letters from two friends in America, Robbyn and Kameron. I still have to write to them and I am going to soon!

When we got home, I met my next door neighbors and made a new friend, named Mia. She is from Ireland. She has two brothers and one sister. Her brother's names are Phinn and Josh. Her sister's name is Sophie. We have fun playing together. Sophie is about the same size as my sister, Sadie.

Today, I had my first day back at school. It was fun. This will be my first full week of school here. I'll be blogging again soon! Bye- Aubrey

My First Time to London

Today I flew to London. We rode to our hotel in a hired car. On the way we saw Big Ben. We saw the Guards with the big fluffy hats during the Changing of the Guards at Buckingham Palace. We saw some men riding on big black horses. Easter is in two days. Outside of our hotel is the River Thames and the London Eye. Big Ben looks like a toy from our hotel.

In our hotel there is a swimming pool inside on the 6th floor. I have no idea how they got it up there so that it won't fall. There is a spa on the 5th floor. I'm kookoo. :-) I was being silly, I'm not kookoo. I went swimming. Every two minutes or so I would also hold my nose and go into the water. It was aweeeeeeeeeeeeesommmmmmmmmeeeeeeee! :-)

Today I hit my toe on one of the beds. It hurt. I am really hungry right now. I am rubbing my tummy waiting for food. We are having room service in our hotel. Tomorrow I think we are going to go sight seeing. London is so cool!

About My Day Today

Today I had a really wonderful day. I made a new friend that is in the 5th grade. I forgot her name, though. I wrote today in my free writing book. Some of the names I put in the book were: Chloe, Anna, Meg, Kami, Gabby, Mae, and Abby. My story was about a puppy party with all of these children in it. I had Science today. We had to try to light up two light bulbs with two batteries. We actually got one of them lighted up but the other one was trying to light up. I rode on the Flying Fox with somebody pushing me. (That is the big rope toy thingy I was telling you about. That's its real name.) I got pushed by these two boys then whenever I hit the end of it, I started to swing back and forth, back and forth, and backwards. It was very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, awesome and fun. I had P.E. today. We had to run back and forth and skip and gallop to get puzzle pieces to make a big puzzle.

Tomorrow, I am actually going to be moving into my new house. I have my own room with a weird looking golden clock that my mom took out of the room so I wouldn't play with it. We took over a dvd of Inspector Gadget to watch while mom and dad unpacked some bags.

Tomorrow I will ride a new bus home from school to my new house. My mom says it is time for me to go to bed now. I miss you all. Bye-bye Aubrey

Bryson's Blurb

Well, I was going to say that while I was here in Scotland I got a new camera. I got Whiff as a toy from Asda. (Whiff is a Tank Engine from Thomas) I really liked my camera and my Whiff because I picked them out so that is why I bought them. I really like to go to the store a lot and I really liked the store. There's a store that I went to but it wasn't Asda. On Friday I am going to see Grammy and Grandad in London. There is a Thomas movie here and it had two Thomas things on one discs, but it didn't have two sides of Thomas. I really like to play with Lady, Thomas, Salty, and Whiff. I haven't made new friends yet. I want to meet someone next door in my new house.

My First School Day

Today was my first day of school. I woke up at 6:00 in the morning, that is midnight in Bartlesville. At school, I met a girl named Meg. I sit by Meg too. Meg is from Australia. Also I met a girl named Kamie from Oklahoma.

In Science we lit up two light bulbs using wires, one big battery, two little small light bulbs and a weird looking light switch. I went to Spanish class today.

We had a snack in the morning. Then we had lunch recess before we ate lunch. Weird.

At lunch recess I played on this big ropey thingy. You had to climb all the way to the top and then you get to slide on a big slide. There was this thing that you could sit on that takes you across the big rope and it doesn't go all of the way, just half way, but was really fun.

My teacher's name is Mrs. Stewart. My other teacher is Mrs. Hamilton. There are less students in my class than in Bartlesville. There are only 2 third grade classes in my school.

Today I had music class. We learned a song called "The Magic Travel Machine". I like the song and wish I could sing it for you.

On my way home from school, I rode a bus. I had to wear a seat belt. It wasn't a school bus, but a travel bus. I sat by Phoebe. She is in my class. There is a girl named Anna in my class and she was on the bus too. I got to sit by the window.

We have a tank of tadpoles in our classroom. Well not really in our classroom; in Mrs. Hamilton's classroom.

In Math today, we got to use Geoboards. Geoboards are things that you can make things with rubber bands. We did fractions with them. I really enjoyed it, except the time when the rubber bands kept flicking at me.

My first day was fun, fun, silly-willy. I was just being silly then. My day was really fun.

My second full day in Scotland

On my second day I was really tired so I slept in until 11:30 in the morning. After we got up I got to go see the inside of our new house. My new house was awesome. I found out I have some neighbors from Ireland, Russia, France, and Spain. What I liked best about our new house is the old fashioned looking telephone. I also liked the quill pen that the owner had in his office. It was cool. Here is a picture of our house.

Today we saw the sea and saw the Fun Beach .

There was a Ferris wheel at the Fun Beach. I saw an inside Water Park and an Ice Rink.

Today we saw a Bagpipe player playing outside of a church that was having a wedding, I think. It was pretty loud. It sounded very pretty.

Today it was raining. I got an e-mail from one of my friends today, too. I played on Webkinz world and I also played with my Nintendo DS.

After dinner, I got to have hot cocoa. It was a fun day. :-)

My First Post

Today is my first full day in Scotland. I got to see my new school. On Monday is my first day of school in Scotland. On April 8th we are moving in our new house. I miss all my best friends. On the second plane we took we got to ride in business class. I sat by myself. I watched Madagascar 2 and Marley and Me on my built in DVD player in my seat. I also stayed in that same plane for 8 hours. I slept in the plane. I laid back in my remote control seat. (Aubrey, third grade.)
