Today was my first day of school. I woke up at 6:00 in the morning, that is midnight in Bartlesville. At school, I met a girl named Meg. I sit by Meg too. Meg is from Australia. Also I met a girl named Kamie from Oklahoma.
In Science we lit up two light bulbs using wires, one big battery, two little small light bulbs and a weird looking light switch. I went to Spanish class today.
We had a snack in the morning. Then we had lunch recess before we ate lunch. Weird.
At lunch recess I played on this big ropey thingy. You had to climb all the way to the top and then you get to slide on a big slide. There was this thing that you could sit on that takes you across the big rope and it doesn't go all of the way, just half way, but was really fun.
My teacher's name is Mrs. Stewart. My other teacher is Mrs. Hamilton. There are less students in my class than in Bartlesville. There are only 2 third grade classes in my school.
Today I had music class. We learned a song called "The Magic Travel Machine". I like the song and wish I could sing it for you.
On my way home from school, I rode a bus. I had to wear a seat belt. It wasn't a school bus, but a travel bus. I sat by Phoebe. She is in my class. There is a girl named Anna in my class and she was on the bus too. I got to sit by the window.
We have a tank of tadpoles in our classroom. Well not really in our classroom; in Mrs. Hamilton's classroom.
In Math today, we got to use Geoboards. Geoboards are things that you can make things with rubber bands. We did fractions with them. I really enjoyed it, except the time when the rubber bands kept flicking at me.
My first day was fun, fun, silly-willy. I was just being silly then. My day was really fun.

Aubrey,
ReplyDeleteYour new school sounds like so much fun! I'm really glad that you made some good friends on your first day of school. I think it's fun that you had Music class today and so did our class in Bartlesville. :) The class has not been the same since you left. We all really miss you. This week we are focusing a lot on things for the state test next week. I can't believe there are only 7 weeks left in the school year. I'll be glad to see you when you come back as a big 4th grader.
Mrs. England
School sounds great! What great experiences you are having already.
